Guidelines & Limitations

File Preparation

Use spot colors where applicable. If position is important, set up your item with one of our templates available on the product page.

Ink Choices

  • You may choose any uncoated PMS color at no charge. No coated colors.

  • On black envelopes, we print metallic or white ink.  PMS 877 (Silver Metallic) or PMS 873 (Gold Metallic).  We also offer custom metallic colors for an additional charge.

  • 4 color printing prices are for CMYK. Add $60.00 for 4 PMS Colors.

  • WHITE INK
We print white ink!  See link for details: www.envelopes.com/white-ink

Bleeds

  • We CAN print full bleed!  Please contact prepress@envelopes.com for print specific questions.

Heavy Coverage or Large Solids

Please be advised that for a 4 color print job, the heavy ink coverage fee is $50.00, for 1-3 colors the heavy ink coverage fee is $35.00.

Offset

Heavy coverage or large solids may produce a light layer of ink that rubs off the front onto the back of the next envelope as it comes out of the press. This is called offset and is very common. Some offset can be avoided by lightening large solids using a tint or screen of the color so that less ink is applied.

2 Sided Printing

We offer the option of printing both sides of most of our products.
